Anvil Monument
Sitting at the entrance to our church is a monument that is dedicated to the Bible. The distinguishing feature of this monument is a large anvil that sits on the top. This was created by a man named Albert Fyfe many years ago and it is based upon a poem he loved that spoke of the Bible as being like an anvil (something that can be beat upon by skeptics yet remains).
Brother Fyfe wanted our church to keep this monument and it was moved to our property where our church building was later built. Bro. Fyfe has since gone home to be with the Lord but his work remains today as a testimony. We invite you to come on out and see it for yourself.

The Anvil of God's Word
“Last eve I paused beside the blacksmith’s door,
And heard the anvil ring the vesper chime;
Then looking in, I saw upon the floor,
Old hammers, worn with beating years of time.
“‘How many anvils have you had,’ said I,
‘To wear and batter all these hammers so?’
‘Just one,’ said he, and then with twinkling eye,
‘The anvil wears the hammers out, you know.’
“And so, I thought, the Anvil of God’s Word
For ages skeptic blows have beat upon;
Yet, though the noise of falling blows was heard,
The Anvil is unharmed, the hammers gone.”
-John Clifford
