Our History
Bible Baptist Church has been serving the Bangor area since it was founded in 1987 by Pastor Artie Dean! For 28 years we met in leased spaces in Bangor before moving to our current location in Orono in January of 2016. God allowed us to be able to purchase land in Orono which we owned for 15 years before God miraculously allowed us to be able to build our beautiful building and move to that land we owned for all those years. There were so many people and ministries that were instrumental in our current facilities being built and we thank God for all that he did for us through them! Though our location changed and we now have a permanent home our mission and purpose has remained the same, to serve the greater Bangor area, lead people to Jesus Christ to be saved from their sins, and make disciples.

Meet Our Pastors
Artie Dean - Senior PastorPastor Artie Dean was born in Greenville Maine and spent many of his early years there. Artie and Lily met in high school and both graduated from Greenville High School. They were both saved at the age of 21, and were discipled immediately after by a very godly couple that God placed in their lives. After attending Bible College, Pastor Dean and his wife, Lily, returned to Maine in 1987 and, along with a few faithful families, began Bible Baptist Church.
Pastor Dean’s desire is to have a place where you can grow in God’s word in a church that is anchored upon the unchanging truths of the Bible. Since the beginning Pastor Dean has preached an unchanging gospel that still changes lives! When Pastor Dean started the church, he chose II Corinthians 4:5 as the ministry verse for Bible Baptist Church which says, “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.” Pastor and Mrs. Dean have a desire to minister to you and help meet your spiritual need! |
Luke Dean - Associate PastorPastor Luke and his wife, Jasmine, joined the staff at Bible Baptist Church in 2016. Pastor Luke is the son of the senior pastor, Artie Dean. Luke grew up in the church, and has been involved in serving ever since he was a child. Luke and Jasmine met in Bible College where they both received a Bachelor’s degree in Church Ministry in 2016. They became part of the staff of Bible Baptist Church after graduating in May of 2016. Luke and his wife, Jasmine, were married in July of 2016 and they, along with their three children, enjoy serving the Lord and ministering to the people of Bible Baptist Church. Luke and Jasmine primarily work with the teens and young children along with serving in an administrative capacity. Both have a heart for the young people and adults alike and desire to see them know God and grow in the Christian faith!
